Ford F-550 Locking Fuel Door
The F-550 is one of the most common platforms under first responder bodies, and one of the platforms with the longest verified fitment history in our records — including a confirmed aluminum-box fire and EMS apparatus build.
Why It Happens
Two fills are common
Many F-550 and F-600 builds carry two diesel fills plus a DEF fill. Each fill needs its own door, so quantity matters when you order.
The factory door must come off first
Our fitment notes are explicit: the existing non-locking painted plastic fuel door has to be removed before the vault door goes in.
Bezel condition varies
Some builds need a replacement housing bezel alongside the door. Bezel part numbers are listed with the fitment record for the chassis.

Common Questions
How do I know how many doors to order?
Count the fills on your rig — diesel and DEF. Order one door per fill. If you are unsure, send a photo of the fill area and we will count them with you.
Do I need a bezel too?
Only on builds where the factory door and bezel are a single piece, or where the existing bezel is damaged. The fitment records list the bezel part number where one applies.
Is installation destructive?
No. The door mounts into the existing factory opening. The factory plastic door is removed and set aside.
